“Champagne Chicken”

Ingredients:

Fresh or Frozen Whole Chicken

1 large onion

6 to 7 cloves of garlic, chopped

1 bottle of Champagne or Chardonnay

3 to 4 carrots cut in half

8 potatoes, cooked to mash

Salt & pepper

1 tbsp of basil

1 tbsp of parsley

1tbsp of paprika

˝ stick of butter

Little milk

Large Crockpot

 

Begin by cutting up the onion and placing it into the Crockpot, then remove the whole chicken

from the freezer, making sure to remove it’s wrapper and place it on top of the onions,

then sprinkle on top of chicken the spices, salt & pepper, then place on top the chopped garlic,

pour the whole bottle of Champagne into the Crockpot,

Cook on High for Three Hours (Fresh Chicken) or Four Hours (Frozen Chicken).

Then cut in half carrots and place around chicken and cook for another hour.

Cut up the potatoes and boil in water for 10 minutes or until soft and mash them,

add butter and little milk until creamy.

 

It is also Great with Chardonnay instead of Champagne.
